Fine Tuning OPAC

Mousing over the text on our self registration confirmation screen was resulting in it becoming underlined, bolded, and slightly larger.

There was a tiny malformed html tag causing the problem, and we've had some stern words with it. In future it will behave itself.

5000th transaction served

Over 5000 transactions have now been conducted through Pay Online.

Pay Online was implemented in phases across eLGAR libraries. North Shore, Manukau and Rodney Libraries went live in September 2008, followed by Waitakere and Auckland in December 2008. In September 2009, the latest eLGAR partner library, Papakura, went live with Pay Online.

As eLGARnet becomes our core collaborative tool, remember to set up an "Alert" for the annoucement list on the homepage and other relevant web-parts.

Also, remember to update your details in the eLGARnet Contact List. This is the only shared contact list available across eLGAR and is often used to contact relevant library staff.

Study Expo for Librarians

Study Expo for librarians
Come along to the eLGAR study expo to get free advice on what courses you can study to enhance your library career.

When: Wednesday 16th September 2009
Where: Level 3, Waitemata room, Auckland City Library, 44 Lorne St
Timing: Drop in to one of the sessions between 9.00am – 11.00am or 11.00am – 1.00pm

Auckland and Manukau City Libraries

What can I find out?
You can find out information about courses available for library and information, management, IT, teaching, children or adult education and many more! You may also decide to choose a tertiary organisation that suits your learning style i.e. you can attend a structured workshop or complete your studies by correspondence.

Auckland City and Manukau libraries will talk to their staff about their library study support scheme.

The LIANZA professional registration scheme recognises your qualification as a librarian and they will be available to answer any questions that you may have.

Can I take a tour of the central library?
There are two tours available to visit behind the scenes of the central library. Tours take approximately one hour and leave from the lift on the ground floor. Tours start at 9am, and 11am. Numbers are limited.

Can I tour the Herman Schmidt exhibition?
There are two tours available to visit the Herman Schmidt portrait photographer 1872-1959 exhibition. Tours take approximately on hour and people meet on the second floor of the Sir George Grey Special collections room of the central library. Tours start at 10am and 12noon.

How do I register?
To register for a behind the scenes tour or the exhibition email Libraries_training@aucklandcity.govt.nz and let us know:
your name

your email address
and if you wish to go on a tour or exhibition, please advise the start time
If you just want to come to the study expo just turn up on the day.

As you log in for the first time, please remember to add an alert to the announcements list found on the home page. This will allow you to keep up to date with various announcements.
